Whale Shark DIES!!!!

Sad very very sad.......when I initially heard and saw they put a whale shark in that tank I was very concerned, I didnt think he would make it, but it seems as if he did ok for a long time......till now.

I am going up there with some friends in March, and was looking forward to seeing it.

I was looking forward to a trip up there to see a whale shark in captivity. At least there are 3 more there and they say they seem to be in good health. Considering they were rescued from people that would have otherwise eaten them, they're still living the high life at the aquarium. It's amazing that they can keep animals of that magnitude. We'll miss seeing you Ralph!

that is very horrible to hear those sharks are really cool

i dont agree with them keeping an animal that big in captivity -IMO its like keeping a tang in a 15 gal tank....no?

The tank is actually the size of a football field. Not sure how that is in proportion to the whale sharks, but sounds pretty big to me.

The tank is HUGE, saw it last April. I still don't know if HUGE is big enough for such a large animal....

I agree that these animals should not be kept in captivity at this time. I do not believe these fish's diet is acceptable in a captive aquarium. I sure hope they can keep the others alive!

i agree also captivity is not for these fish. even a tank the size of ten football fields is not enough.
