What A Cutie!

A month ago, I posted about a batch of seahorse babies which included 2 with 2 heads.

Well, I wanted to share a photo of the 1 remaining baby from this batch. He is celebrating his 1 month birthday today, and guess what?! He is already eating chopped frozen mysis! This is a first for me. I have gotten one to 3 months old before, but he was still eating cyclopeeze.

The other seahorse in the pic is a buddy I bought for him from Sloan to teach him how to eat frozen. The one I got from Sloan eats it like candy, and it didn't take 2 days for the little one to pick it up.

For size comparison, the buddy horse is a juvie kuda, approx 2.5" long. The caulerpa the baby is hitched to is regular grape caulerpa, and the airline tubing is regular sized.

Now if I can do this right - here's the pic!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys! I feel like I've made a huge breakthru in getting him to eat mysis so early. All the reading I've done proves they have a better chance the faster you can get them on it, but he wouldn't touch it. I've seen other horses mimics their friends, so when I found the little juvie at Sloan's, and she was eating so well, I thought I'd try it. Worked like a charm.
