Okay, so I woke up this morning, and I had no idea how shocking this day would become. Okay, so after several very lucky things happen (such as getting let on the marine bio trip to catalina island (woot snorkeling) for a second time by random chance) i come home to a 55 gallon reef tank that is drained to the bottom by empty canister filter (that really just works as a pump). My dad, who was on his lunch break, had started mopping up the water (which started to go out the front door) and I was freaking out, just making enough saltwater to keep my animals alive. Anywho, 3 hours later, it all turned out okay, minus the fact that my soft corals were dry for a good half hour-hour, and i dont know how well they will come back (if they will come back). Anywho
Then i go to my room which has a small little porch thing with a small rubbermaid 30gal container that i call a pond (which is really a water garden of sorts) rummaged through, and all the plants are torn up, and the fish are gone, and little racoon pawprints were all over the steps leading up to my room. Arug. What a strange turn of events.
Then, as if to add comedy to the situation, i sit down and take a good look at the rock that my mushroom polyps are on, and i find that it is not a rock, oh no, but an oyster( i believe). I have had them for a year, and i had seen it moving, but it never dawned on me that it may very well be an oyster, or clam, or whatever it is.
haha.
I cant believe that its alive! I have tried scalops before and they never do well. haha.
Anywho, i just thought i would share this very strange day with you.
Aaron.
