What acrylic (thickness, type, where to buy, etc.) would you recommend for small algae scrubber build????

Where do you buy? Are there different types of acrylic.....if so, which one is good to use?

Any suggestions for glues? Tools for cutting? etc.

"Small" is pretty vague, but 1/4" should be fine. For larger applications closed cell acrylic is best, but for smaller projects it really doesn't matter.

I have a local acrylic place but most local places sell by the sheet. They will cut for a price too.
If you do not need allot, on ebay there are people selling scrap pretty cheap.

You can build an algar scrubber for less than $30. Just hang some plastic mesh in your overflow box so the water is flowing over it and light it with an inexpensive red and blue LED grow light. I have had mine set up that way in my 300 gallon for years and it works great. Just wish it was self cleaning.

Hi I have used this place many times. They package the acrylic very well. I use the cast acrylic as it cuts very well.
