what am i doing wrong ?

at the last meeting i got a small frag of pulsing xenia
i was told to put it in a low flow area of the tank for a few days, which i did (4 days) (adam)
then used some salty critter coral glue to put it on a reef disk
it did not like it much nor stayed on it very long
to day b4 going to work i put my power head on very low (aqua sweep 228)
to get circulation going found out the water movement was not good enough with just the hv1 skimmer and cascade 300 hob filter
now its just floating around
i love the look of the pulsing xenia but if i cant seem to keep one i will have to stop trying aand do something else
any help will be great

zenia is tuff to move or relocate as it is sooo slimy. BUT, it will grow anywhere ( rock/sand/powerhead/etc.) as long as you dont let it get sucked up into a filter or powerhead and keep it in light it will eventually attach itself. There are other techniques ( using a rubber band,etc. ) I am sure others will post those or give a call. Dont get discouraged. IF you loose it - you can come into my office and get another one. I have plenty.

Give me a handfull of rubble, and I will bring it back to the next meeting with xenia on it for you. My new monster skimmer is almost finished... maybe once it is, me xenia will melt away

Bean, melting xenia. LOL Everytime I try a piece from Bill King it just melts away. Maybe someday I will be as lucky as I used to be at keeping it and as lucky as some who have a xenia factory!
