I've got a regal

What happened to your trio as I have? Did you lose them due to quarelling?

You're the only other system I've seen with a trio and I'd be interested to see...

I had a female Bellus for a short while because it was taking meaty chunks out of my prized green open brain and button polyps. I've sold most of my softies and lps in order to try another angel.

Cheers

I have a Chrysurus, a Blueline, a Multicolor, and a Golden in my reef. They are kept with leathers and mushrooms with no problems.

regal, chrysurus, asfur.

I tried to introduce another regal, but the preexisting one went banshee. The other one is in my sump now recovering....

First off sorry for the bad pics. ALSO the spots you see in the pictures are coralline algae on the acrylic pannels. I haven't gotten off my butt and cleaned the coralline off, haha.

These are all in my 275 gallon tank with mostly SPS, a few LPS, a few zoos, and a few clams.

First up is my small/juvi regal angel (Pygopllites diacnthus). This guy still has his false eye spot on his back. Probably close to 3-3 1/2" and eating very well. He attacks the turkey baster I feed with. I could only get 1 shot of this guy, he moves very fast.... This guy doesn't pick at my zoos either.

Next up is my favorite fish in the tank. He is my blueline angel (Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis). He is a great fish, acts like a puppy dog. He follows me around the tank and when my arm's in the tank he rubs up against it. He eats out of my hand and he is KING of the angels in the tank.

Last is my goldflake angel (Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus). This is also a favorite of mine! This fish will also eat out of my hand and follow me around the tank.

Again sorry for the horrible pics !

I also have 2 centropyge specimens in my tank.

The first one is my joculator (Centropyge joculator). It's a nice little fish, they are also very very hardy. Eats everything I throw into the tank.

Next one is my interruptus (Centropyge interruptus). One of my favorite fish, it is a very striking fish. Also is a big pig in my tank.

nbd13 like wow nice angels and you say they dont pick at your coral not even your zoo's thats what i'm most affraid of and i know i would like a couple of clams in the futur i know that it a hit or miss whit these fish but at what percent
keep the storys coming and the pics too there are great looking fish

I have a coral beauty, and chrysurus in my tank for about a year now, as was said before you just have to watch what kind of corals you put in the tank with them, the coral beauty is fine with everything so far, the chrysurus to a likeing to some zoos.

coral beauty.. just got it last week.. hasnt touched any corals yet, just grazes on the liverock.. hopefully itll stay like this

Ironman- Thanks.

rick17 and E-A-G-L-E-S- Thanks. All these fish are fine with corals, encluding clams. I have about 4 clams in there and none of the angels pay any attention. I also have a few colonies and a few frags of zoos in my tank and they are fine with them as well. It's still a risk in terms of clams.... probably close to 50/50 maybe a tiny bit better at 60/40 that they won't pick on clams..... It's a risk, but to me these beautiful fish are with it:D.

HTH, let me know if there are more questions.

thats what i thought.....i am a clam lover and have a 10 clam cove that i would be too worried about an angel going to town on :(

Are any non-dwarf angels suitable for a 90g tank. I've been tempted to get a small juvenile emperor and keep it until it outgrows the tank or my wife allows a larger tank.

I have a Majestic, Blue Line and a tiny juvi Koran. There's absolutely no aggression among any of them yet (the Blue Line and Koran are new, but went into the new tank soon after the Majestic). I don't have a lot of corals and no clams, although I want to change both of those things. None of the angels pick at any of the corals, although I've seen the Majestic pick at stuff...probably bits of food or algae...that is in amongst the zoos and button polyps. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...but like others have said, the angels are possibly the coolest things in the tank, so if I can't keep a certain type of coral, so be it.

Btw, the Blue Line in the store was in a tank with frags of various things including zoos and hadn't touched any of them. He did have a close encounter with a longspine urchin that left a small would in his side, but it doesn't appear to be bothering him, and I got him "cheap" as a result. I'll try to post some pictures later, although I have a microbubble problem that makes everything look like it has ich in pictures.

nbd13 or anybody do you think that it would be better to ad a angelfish beford the clam or visi versa or it wont make no difference its only the fish that will decide if it has a taste for it

rick17- I don't think it will make too much of a difference, BUT I would add the clams ahead of time. I think there a slightly better odds doing it this way;).
