What angels for SPS reef tank

CRAZY FISH1

Hello all.

I'm looking for a bit if advice on what Angels to add to my 350g SPS reef tank.

I have just added a gold flake and I'm really wanting to add a majestic, emperor, regal & a blue face.

This might be a bit of a strain if I add them all but I would like too add at least another 2.

Any advice welcome and any other good suggestions would be great.

Ben

if you want to go for large angels, Blueline Angel - Chaetodontoplus Septentrionalis or if you can afford it, Chaetodontoplus Conspicillatus.

Also true Personifer Angel's are nice.

I have a regal and a blue faced and my sps are growing great but I think they cause my sps not to have very good PE. But for the color of the fish I can deal with little PE.

My advice would be none. They will all nip eventually I don't care what anyone says. Make a second tank if you want angels.

Get a tang. And at least one kole tang. Then the algae thread will be avoided. Lol

Agree no angel is reef safe ime

For comparison in my 480 SPS heavy I have: Asfur (10 years), Majestic (5 years), Imperator x2 (5 years and 4 months), Regal (6 years), Cream (4 years), Potters (3 years), and a Flame (4 years). Only things they have bothered are clams and I have never put in zoas since zoas = food.

my Koran ate everything but LPS. My brother had a regal ate everythign

swallowtail angelfish and i believe most of the Genicanthus genus are safe. most of the extremely vibrant ones are not

The big key with angels that I and others have observed is to not underfeed and keep the corals healthy, those two things go a long way.

I keep Emperator, Regal, Golden Flake, Golden, and Majestic. All are large and have been in tank together for many years. Eat any corals except SPS. Some nibble SPS and they move stuff so I have losses that way. Real losses, i cant find them in the rocks when the fish move them but otherwise they are worth it. Great algae eaters and they fight over Aptasia.

I have a Potter's and a Bellus. Have great PE with no issues. When I upgrade I'll likely get a large angel as well.

Thanks for the help advice guys.

Ye quite a few people are saying that pe will suffer but aslong as the coral is healthy and keeps on growing it should be fine.

Thanks for the advice mate I have just read you tank thread and your tank is pretty much the same size as mine and very similar In stock.
My tank is 60x48x30 so I'm fairly confident I can keep at least 4 angels in there.

Do you manage to keep the nutrients low when feeding heavy?

Thanks it's a great bit of advice.
I think I might add a majestic this weekend :fun2:

I feed multiple times a day. I usually go to the grocery store and buy large scallops that I cut in half. Freeze the extras and then u can pull one out every week. I will stick a plastic tooth pick thru and rubberband to frag plug. The angels love it. My sps look very healthy and have great growth. Have had my angels for Appx 1 yr. I guess I am lucky. Knock on wood.
