What are Frags?

What excatly are frags? My LFS sells these much cheaper than other corals, but the kid (looked a little young to be working) said that he couldn't differentiate the corals b/c of a lack of marine knowledge.

frags are cut off peices of corals, this is one method used to make another coral, usually they are 1-2 inches, thats why they are cheaper

HAHAHA. I hate it when you get someone at a store with little or no knowlege of what they sell in the store. Anyway, frags are little peices of corals. They are cheaper because the are small. If you get frags you will be waiting a while for them to grow.
