What are my clowns doing?

I'm new to sw tanks. I've got a 29g with 30 lbs of LR. I've had a pair of young (maybe juvenile but I think slightly older) false percs for 5 weeks. I added a banggai cardinal 2 weeks ago. There was a bit of pushing each other around to start, but that settled quickly. I moved a bunch of rocks on the weekend, but there hasn't been any territorial fighting. Just this evening, the larger clown started trying to swim through the glass. It looks like territory marking, just seems strange because he keeps going back to the exact same spot on the glass. literally the same spot.....

Now before everyone goes off on me about bioload and the banggai being a bad addition, I realized that the other day, and decided to take the cardinal back, but my LFS was closed tues/wednesday, so it's on my agenda for tomorrow... but are the clowns just claiming the entire tank? They wont let the cardinal out from under its rock.

Always in the same spot? I think I figured it out, there was a salt spot that I couldn't quite see... I think he was hungry

I just thought there might be something about your tank that caused his reflection at one local. But it sounds like you figured it out :D

Yeah I considered that, but it was literally right on the same little dot for a while.... when I walked over and wiped it off, he lost interest... was really weird

Lol - goofy little fish - they have itty bitty teeny tiny hardwired brains, you know :) Like you said, he probably kept thinking it was food or found it extremely offensive that you had missed a spot.
