What are my zoas growing on?

I have this colony of about 30-40 eagle eye zoas.

They appear to be growing on another living organism..

There are 2 vents, that open and close throughout the day, sometimes very rapidly.

In the pics you can see one of the vents, it's a small hole in the middle of the colony

Ideas?

Maybe a barnacle?

This colony is larger than a golf ball, smaller than a baseball.

Do barnacles get that big? Do they normally get sold on them?

I have the same exact thing where my Zoas are growing on a shell. I contacted the LFS I got this frag from and they advised it is an oyster. Do you see few black lines on the side of the mouth On a clear film?

Yes, it is faintly striped
