What are some of the best online stores?

Its been a long time since I last owned and operated a marine tank. Heck, I don't think Amazon even existed. What are some of the online stores these days? Where are the better online stores to shop for lights, filtration, hardware, etc.?

Marinedepot or bulkreefsupply

Marinedepot very responsive helpful in their form here. I know I asked them tons of questions.

Love both of them with all the videos

I prefer bulk reef supply and have purchased pretty much everything from them for my new build. They do free shipping on everything, competitive pricing , and rewards points that you can redeem at any time.

awesome. Thanks. Remember Marine Depot. They've been at it for a long time. Build Reef Supply is a new one. I'll check it out.

Frogman, I've got my eye on a 90 gallon tank. That size seems to be about the speed I'm looking for. What kind of sump do you have? What's worked well for you? Not so good?

Cincccyjim, tell me about the continuous water change system you have. How do you have that setup? How's that work? Something you put together or purchased turn key?

I've found that BRS has a slightly larger selection for more obscure items. One example that I just noticed was when I was shopping for some egg crate and Marine Depot didn't carry any. However, MD does carry some common brands that BRS does not. I've also used MD's price match and it was incredibly easy and quick. The only other difference I have noticed is that BRS seems to ship faster for me. It might be my location, but it has been 2-3 days vs 4-6 for MD. I don't think you can go wrong with either and both of them have incredibly useful videos.

Hi RussC,
I have a 25 gallon container that the Apex DOS draws new saltwater from and pumps it into the sump by the return pump. At the same time it is adding the new saltwater, the DOS draws old saltwater from the other end of the sump and pumps it into the floor drain. I change 2 gallons a day which starts at 1200 noon and ends at 8pm. So it a slow continuous water change and it is all controlled by my Apex. All I ever have to do is make new saltwater to keep the process flowing. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Jim

Cincyjim, that sounds like one heck of a cool deal! You took all the labor out of labor of love! HA

lol I guess so. Finding the time to do the Water changes was getting challenging to the point I was skipping them. It wasn't that it would take that long but it was a "time" struggle for me. This way I can have more time watching the tank and doing other tank maintenance.
