So about 5 months ago i noticed these rubbery egg like gray bubbles on one of my rocks. i tried poking them off with a scraper and they wouldnt budge.

about a month ago they doubled, so i use a toothbrush under water and tried to get them off, i got about 1/3 of them off, some i netted out and some seemed to float away. a few days later, i now have a few eggs in different spots of the tank.

this process seemed to really ****ed of my clownfish.

1. what type of eggs are they?

2. are they bad for tank?

3. how do i get rid of them properly?

Looks like bubble algae. If/when you break them, they will spread spores and create more "bubbles". Have you tried to pick them off? Emerald crabs are supposed to feed on them.

Just do the best you can and try and remove them right before your next water change. Don't worry about popping them, but definitely keep your eyes peeled from week to week. You want to stay ahead of these things. GL.

they are impossible to pop. they are like solid rubber. i took the edge of metal scraper and tried poking it as hard as possible, and still nothing? are they still bubble algae?

forget it, after some research it seems to be, Valonia macrophysa (a type of bubble algae)
