What are these for?

Hello all

I am about to start my plumbing, and am wondering if these holes on either side of this ball valve are meant for something?

Thanks Dave

My computer isn't letting me enlarge the pic, but my guess is that they're for mounting the valve to a surface/wall.

That is what I assumed as well. Bhe holes are not threaded, nor do thet protrude all the way through the center, although they do exist on the other side aswell.

I would have thought that if you could drive a screw through them that the holes would have been made all the way through.

they are mounting points for an electronic solenoid valve. manufactures will use the same mold for non-solenoid valves to save money.
