How long after a tank is set up and established will they go away? I ask because my tank is going on about 6 months since I started it? I had quite a few in my tank and sump until I added a flame angel an he has enjoyed all the ones in the tank but my sump is still full of them

Why would you want to get rid of them? They are filter feeders, so having them in the sump is probably a good thing. And if your Flame Angel is eating any that get into the DT, so much the better!

Exactly. Sounds like free food and free filtration. That's why I'm finding this hobby so fun. It's a little mystery when something shows up in your tank!
I don't want to get rid of them at all! im only asking because a lot of what I have read people say they will disappear. I would love if they stuck around in the sump for extra food and filtration

They consume a lot of silicate. Silicate is plentiful when starting a new tank. They will never fully disappear but their numbers will be less and less over time.
