What are these things?

I saw these at a LFS. Its a chunk of rock with what looked like some kind of rhodactis mushrooms and these weird little tube clusters. The owner had no idea what they were, and was waiting to hear back from the supplier about them.

They're kinda cool looking. They're clearish white, with what appeared to be a lavender or magenta "lip" around the top. What are they? Are they reef safe? Might pick them up if they're something interesting and not dangerous lol.

Er, I don't seem to be able to edit my post to fix the sideways image, so I guess I'll have to double post.. I definitely took the photo with the phone upright.

Oh that's what they were called! I read something about Tunicates when I was reading up on sponges but didn't really look into it. Quick google search, they look just like'em! Are they good? bad? No one knows?

Without having read the linked articles yet (I will go back and read them) I think they are good filter feeders but extremely difficult to keep alive in an aquarium. Even harder than sponges of which we can keep about 10 out of thousands of species.
