What are these?

The first is Protopalythoa. People use the name Palythoa a lot now but they don't use it describe the right corals. There is a bid difference.

The second is definately Hydroids. Usually they grow for a while and end up dying off if your tank is healthy. I don't know what causes that but I have seen it happen a lot. I have also heard of people rubbing a Euphylia on them regularly to kill them. The hydroids do sting so you don't want them to grow everywere.

maybe it was my 4g's unhealthy state that made them grow, because my 32g is pretty darn stable. interesting...

keyhole limpets are also reported to eat them.

And with an unhealthy tank, it might also be why your zoos didnt open up.
