Rev, those were the topic of a thread a while ago...that doesn't really offer any help because I don't remember what they were called nor what the thread was, but if my memory serves me correctly, they are of no worry. FWIW, we have a bunch of them in our tank too...

I figured they were harmless as they have been there a while. I was asked what they were and I didn't know so thought some one in the club could tell me

Below is the thread. The stuff is called Neomeris annulata (a.k.a. spindleweed). It is a calcerous algae. Not generally problematic from what I understand, although, I imagine just like most things in our tanks they could get out of control under the right conditions.
