What are you feeding a mixed reef tank?

Hello everyone,

I bought a frozen saltwater variety pack the other day to feed 2 clowns, a 6 line wrasse, a bicolor blenny and a handful of hermits. I'm wondering if I can just cycle through a different frozen food each day and not bother with processed foods such as pellets and flakes.

The product is san francisco bay frozen saltwater multipack.

Anyone do this currently?

That's fine, but the more variety you can provide the better. Those flakes/pellets pack quite a punch IMO. These are actually my go to as opposed to the frozen foods.

What do you think about Hikari Marine S? I've always been a fan of their products when I did fresh water. And do you really need a feeding ring? Seems a lot of what's being marketed out there is just to fill a "nice to have" niche.

I would try to feed your fish a variety of different foods. I feed my tank LRS Reef Frenzy Nano (Good Stuff), Hikari Mysis Shrimp, and NLS pellets. I typically will rotate what i feed each day between the 3.

I feed the multi pack.. I rotate what I feed them each day..
Fish also get pellets here and there... only the clowns will eat them.. sometimes the tangs... so I've been using pellets to feed my acans , zoa/pallys , hidden cup corals and my nems.. 2 rainbow bta.. one rose bta.. they all seem to love the pellets.

But with your original question.. I've been using the multi pack for about a year now.. and changing it up daily..
Now that I have to feed 2 cubes a day.. they get 2 different types mixed together
