What are you feeding your stonies?

I've never fed mine much, but am going to start. I've read good things regarding oyster eggs. Anyone used them with noticeable results? I'm thinking my frozen cyclop-eeze is just too big of a micron size. I fed cyclop tonight and did not notice any polyps getting anything.

I have some of that coral frenzy and its a lot finner than cyclopeez, super fine but I wonder if the SPS eat it. My LPS seem to extend for it but who knows. Oyster eggs are so high $$$ but so was the coral frenzy though.

I use oyster eggs a time or two per week (usually just once/week). I use just a pinch each time -- not the full 1/4 teaspoon -- more like 1/16 of a teaspoon. I scoop a bit out with a knife. One container lasts me a whole year. I have also tried rotifeast and the corals didn't seem to like it as much. When I feed the oyster eggs I see polyps disappear like crazy -- all munching. I've had much better coloration of my stonies since feeding this more regularly. I sometimes feed it alone, but most often mix them in with some frozen cyclop-eeze, a squirt of selcon, and a little bit of seachem reef plus. I feed about 30 minutes before my last lights go off.

The oyster eggs put a bunch of nutrients into the tank, so that is why I don't feed the recommended amount. Maybe when my corals all get huge I'll up the dose.

I don't feed anything but the fish, so fish poop and small particles of fish food are mostly what the corals get. My corals also get a good feeding every couple of weeks when I blow the rocks off with a powerhead. They love the bacteria in the detritus:)

Good to know. I have more fish now than I did, so maybe I can feed less or not at all and maintain color. I think my nutrients were too low for a while there. I also think that wooglin doesn't feed his corals. For me it was a pretty dramatic difference, but that was also before I had a tang in the tank ;)

I feed the DT's oyster eggs about once a week and cyclopeeze once every 2 weeks or so. However, I'm not getting the best color since I moved my tanks. Things are slowly coming back around (as far as color) but could be better.
