What are your thoughts on this?

They were never indeginous to Long Island, but we are seeing them up here too as well as other carribean species like angels, wrasses, lookdowns and butterflies. They don't survive the winter as far we know, but they come up here through the Gulf stream....IMO it's pretty cool, but what will be the long term effect of a predator like a lionfish in northern waters.

Yes Lionfish could have found their way into the Carribean for many other reasons than aquariast dumping them. As far as I know there are species indeginous to the Atlantic region.

Sorry but I am finding this as fruitful as arguing with a brick wall, I'll add nothing further.
