What are your two favorite things in your tank right now?

my favorite are my pearly jawfish and my joe the coral acro (mostly b/c i love watching it grow). i really love watching my jawfish burrow and checking out all of my sps corals and their colros.

#1-hawfish. #2-other hawkfish :D

I finally got my first long nose hawkfish and am still super jealous of your pair, long nose hawks are one of my all time favorite fish and there behavior never gets boring to watch

My favorite thing in my reef tank is that I have zero nuisance algae or pests of any sort. It's a good feeling after so many battles to have a tank with no problems.

Second would be my Green Bird Wrasse. He's probably the most intelligent fish I've ever owned. He knows when the feeding times are (like clockwork) and if I'm late he'll continuously make loud snapping noises at the top of the water that I can hear several rooms away until he's fed. Just a great personality, always investigating the tank hunting copepods, and such a graceful swimmer. He's the most beautiful teal color too. Love him.

I love my catsharks too - I've had them since 2001 and they've become much more than just fish to me.

My flower pot and bubble coral.

I have 1 did not know you could pair them! So cool I wish I knew that would have introduced 2 at the same time.

just an f.y.i., the second one was added several months after the first one. i did a lot of reading and didn't find much that said it couldn't be done so i went for it. i may have gotten lucky and got a male/female pair but they are hard to sex so i'm not sure. it's very rare for them to spawn in captivity. these two paired up pretty much instantly and have been inseparable ever since.

so, depending on your tank size, i wouldn't rule out a second one if you want to try it.

My two cleaner shimp were my favorite, but I think my yellow tang ate them. My colony of wamming watermelon zoanthid polyps. I really like my mushroom corals, because they are easy to take care of. I also really like my inverts, I am very fond of my tuxedo urchin and my Fighting Conch.

I wonder if flames would exhibit the same behavior.

Flame hawk pair=sweet

two flames would be awesome!

i would suggest that if you try adding another hawkfish, use an acclimation box. i did this when i added the second one but released it after just a few hours as i saw zero aggression.

I see, if I do choose to do so i will use the box. Overall I dont think he/she is aggressive, but loves to perch on my giant orange tree sponge and kenya tree. Cant imagine having two! He/she is almost to the point of perching in my hand when I put it in the tank.

mine most often perch on my monti. they are usually side by side and sometimes one will perch right on top of the other one.
