I have 1 did not know you could pair them! So cool I wish I knew that would have introduced 2 at the same time.
I finally got my first long nose hawkfish and am still super jealous of your pair, long nose hawks are one of my all time favorite fish and there behavior never gets boring to watch
just an f.y.i., the second one was added several months after the first one. i did a lot of reading and didn't find much that said it couldn't be done so i went for it. i may have gotten lucky and got a male/female pair but they are hard to sex so i'm not sure. it's very rare for them to spawn in captivity. these two paired up pretty much instantly and have been inseparable ever since.
so, depending on your tank size, i wouldn't rule out a second one if you want to try it.
I wonder if flames would exhibit the same behavior.
