What are Zoa's valued at?

Do all Zoa's have different values, are they all pretty cheap since they multiple quickly or based more on value of rariety? I'm wondering and new to zoa's, I only have one variety but am considering trading some frags locally. (and of course referring the local to ReefCentral b/c it rocks)

I am considering trading a rainbow ricordea for different types of zoas.

I have no idea what they are called, but here are pics. Let me know if it's a good deal to get 3 or 4 types of zoas for the rainbow ($50 LFS, selling local for $30)

Appreciate any input. It will be my first frag swap, want to make sure I'm getting a good deal and being fair to the other too, we are actually both pretty new to the hobby.

Asking the value of polyps is a pretty loaded question around here. Some believe they are worth $$$ while others will not pay more than $20-$25 for a nice sized frag.

I think the safe answer for me is what are they worth to you and what would you want to pay for them if you were buying them. Also take into consederation if you are dealing with a fellow hobbiest, I will always give good deals and knock down the price or give freebies to fellow reefers. For me its all about this and usually that person will get you back at some point.

I did some more looking around. some of these rare zoas being bought up for $200.... crazy stuff.

It's a very supply and demand situation. I think at a local frag swap they all go for 5 bucks a frag. Some of them get very expensive. I think there are some very beautiful common zoas that are simply cheap because they are not rare. In a year I think most of the expensive ones will be common and there will be new expensive ones.

Ill just add that recently caught wild polyps are worth 1/4 of what truly aquacultured corals are, and most of the "recent craze" polyps sold for insane prices are sold by chop shops charging premium aquacultured corals prices for soemthing they paid hardly anything for, didnt grow and they chop them up into little pieces and bend you over

sure it is supply and demand...they wouldnt get the prices they ask if it wasnt, but do yourself and the hobby a favor and if you are going to pay a premium for something you want, support your reputable farmers or hobbyists and get what you pay for
