what beginner LPS for a biocube 29

So heres the skinny: I'm 99% sure that i will be getting a biocube 29 for x-mas(happy happy joy joy). I wanted to make it a LPS reef. I don't really want to do zoos just because well, they don't pop out enough. I want LPS because they have shape and definition. What beginner LPS would do good in this tank? Also, are there any upgrades for the lighting in the hood? I'm also thinking about upgrading the pump to about 450 gph instead of the stock one. What do you guys think?

Corals: Red Modern, Bubble, Frogspawn, Torch

Circulation: Don't overwelm LPS or they will not open fully due the whipping around of the soft tissues.

Lighting -T5s or MH

P.S. One of the first corals I ever bought was a red mushroom that now has polyps 5 inches across and is stunning. It is usually what others notice first!

oh yeah btw the stok lighting in the biocube 29 is 72 watt PC and the stock pump is 316 gph

I have a BC 14 that holds 2 frogspawns. They are both pretty happy and my clowns like them a lot.

I STRONGLY recommend getting a larger pump, I put a maxi-jet 1200 in my tank that pulls 295 gph.

There are lots of really cheap and easy mods I have done that make maintenance so much easier. If you would like some helpful links send me an email.

About lighting, I can send you some links to lighting mods but they tend to be too pricey for me, and they are not needed for lps. Lighting mods also increase your temp, so many require a chiller as well, which is more $$$.

I love my LPS nano - you'll have fun with it for sure. I think, with that lighting you could get away with various species of Caulastrea, Euphyllia, Fungia, Blastomussa, Plerogyra, Platygyra, Nemanzophyllia, acans, some favias, and of course non-photosynthetics...

I personally started with a bubble.

To me it was easy to tell when it was happy with the flow or too much flow because of how much it expanded.

When the lights went out the sweepers came out, and they would stretch as far as they could.

It would eat anything from mysis, to cyclop, to pellets.

It also grew quickly in my opinion, faster than my torch and frogspawn put together, and way more active.

I also liked my brain alot, but it was no where near as active as my bubble.

lets have a bump shall we?

i saw the favia show off thread and i'm starting to like the looks of them. Would they do well in a BC 29?
