IMO I would skip a u.v and use money towards a good skimmer, ca/kalk reactor, rancho controller/or other and top off ressivor all to help keep water qaulity up to par and disease free...
If you were to use only when a disease outbreak hits.. it would only benefit you if you had free floating ich. It would do nothing for you when your fish already have it.
I would use ozone over UV. I like that you get measurable results in the form of an ORP reading. Should kill most things it comes in contact with in the skimmer or reactor plus it keeps your water clear in the process!
