what brand salt mix without having to add additives?

what PETCO is that? the petco in davis does not have reef crystals brand...

I've been using Reef Crystals for several years. Last time I needed salt I bought Red Sea. Not a dramatic difference, but it seemed like it was more work to keep the Ca up. I'm out of salt now & I'm going back to Reef Crystals. I liked the sound of $34.99, but I didn't want to drive all the way down to Laguna & find out it was too good to be true. I phoned them. Shawn was in the fish department & told me they have salt, but not Reef Crystals. So I ordered it from DFS. Coupon worked - thanks Minh!

I used one bag of IO and got all kinds of algae......
Someone was saying the rep from IO and RC said "why use anything but RC" to that nature.
I personally have had no problems, but the original question is a bit loaded and needs to be VERY specific on the load of Mg,CA, Alk on the tank and how LONG you want to go without supplementing. Regardless, at a certain point.......you have to....but I am big on picking one and sticking with it as with water source and everything else.....consistency and stability is key!!!
So I would say, just pick one and do whatcha gots to do!!!
