What Can I Do??

Hi all, I have a small golden angel from DD and she has yet to eat prepared food and I've had her since summer. She picks off the rocks and now she's pecking my sps. The tank she's in is young and has mostly frags. She's gonna wipe out all of the frags soon so I'm in a bind. Anything will help at this point.

I dont know if you've tried, but soak some brine in garlic extract. It can help picky eaters start to eat. If that doesn't work might want to think about removal before it does serious damage to the corals.

Golden Angels, and others of the Centropyge genus are hit & miss with corals. the LA/DD site makes this quite clear.

I'm aware of that. I got her to pair with my existing golden and he eats everything. I was hoping she would follow his lead and eat everything. I soak most of my food in garlic but that won't entice her.

Your only option may be to get rid of her then, if you've had her that long and she still hasn't eaten any prepared foods then that may be your only option.

if you really want the fish, maybe a live brine shrimp, or mysid would entice the fish to eat then slowly acclimate her to frozen foods. GL

Yeah, if he won't live brine or mysid, its really a problem. IMO, garlic may help with some fish, but isn't any miracle worker. The Golden I have is the shyest dwarf Angel I've ever kept. Yours isn't getting picked on? Also, I've kept a few DAs that seemed to eat almost nothing except the algae, pods, and other micro-life the found grazing. IMO, all DAs really need a mature tank with plenty of mature LR. I just assume yours does. Because he's a DD fish, I'd call them. Kevin & staff may have some great advice that you wouldn't find anywhere else. Also, I've had some success with finicky angels (and many fish) feeding Cyclops-Eeze. I'm convinced that there's really something irresistible with this stuff.

Ever since I added the smaller golden both of them have been out and about but they're still a little timid. The LR in the tank is 5 years mature so she's got plenty to pick on. I'll try cyclops and maybe the staff up in Rhinelander will have some advice.
