What can make my clowns move.....seriously?

Love my clowns really, I do. In my opinion I don't think a reef tank is complete without a pair. The being said they love their GBTA, a lil too much maybe. They never leave it! Before I added it they would swim from one side of the tank to the other(72 gal). Now they stay within the nem or just outside of it, but seeing them anywhere else in the tank isn't happening. what can I try to make my clowns a lil more active, or am I stuck with 2 couch potatoes?

your only option is to remove the nem. clowns in the wild barely move a few feet from their nems in the wild so they are programmed to stay close to the nem.

LOL that is so funny mine do the same thing i even whent as far as getting my pair of clown not 1 not 2 but 3 BTA so that they will swim around

If you want your clowns to swim everywhere in the tank then don't keep any anemone. Even then, they might find something else to be hosted and never swim far from it.

Yup just clowns being clowns. If you wanted to consider other clowns some of the species in the clarkii complex seem to spend more time in the water column as they are stronger swimmers.

Geez, thanks for the input everyone. I guess I'll have to deal with the 2 homebodies. I just loved the look of that orange & black flashing around the tank.

I have clowns in both of my tanks. The pair I have in my 75 have a nem but don't host in it. They host in a corner and don't go far from their corner. The clowns I have in my 125 have 2 nems and they stay close to their nems and all times just like yours.

I've found when I feed only once a day they will swim around a little. Or put another nem close by and they may go back and forth to each of them.
