What clown can go with Percs

none. a 55g is fairly small to begin with; multiple pairs of clowns in a single tank will almost always end (maybe not immediately, but eventually) with one needing to be removed, or one killing the others, even if they're the same species.

unrelated, but if your clowns are 'false percs' then they arent percs at all; they're ocellaris, a different and unrelated species.

Just curious Moonstream, but are you making this statement from experience or because you read it somewhere, like here on RC?

in part, experience. in part, because I've seen very few tanks with multiple pairs of (mature) clowns.

I tried keeping an ocellaris with a pair of percula; my eventual plan was to add a second ocellaris for the existing female. two most peaceful species of clowns, right? figured it would work in a 75g with other fish (dither fish) and plenty of rock to break the line of sight. after three months of the ocellaris incessantly chasing the two percs, I had to remove her.
