What color background?

I've had both and I now prefer black. The colors of the fish/corals will be more noticeable. Also, the algae growth on the back tend to blend in better with black.

I personally like blue. What I suggest you do is just get one of those black on one side/blue on the other sheet backgrounds from your LFS. That way you can decide for yourself what you like best. They are fairly cheap.

One of these days I will take a picture of the black side, but for now...blue,

I would say that it is on the darker side of blue. And that picture was taken with my old lights, just upgraded to 250s, so the tank is brighter overall.
