What corals with these lights?

I dunno thats what the guy had on the tank before me so I figured thats what I needed

I mean, you *could* use 36" lights, but why would you? I would get something that's 48" so your entire tank is lighted. If you're sure you don't want to keep SPS, then get 4 of the 48" IceCap T5 retros, or get the 760W MH fixture from Aquatraders ($359). That's what I have, although I modded it by replacing the ballasts (IceCaps) and bulbs (cheap e-bay bulbs for $21 each). My corals love it.

I agree with the IceCap retros... If you only want some softies, and LPS you would only need the HO model and not the VHO model.

Also, go with a 48" fixture. The Icecaps are like 46.5" to be exact I think... but you get the idea.

Marineland makes a 48in, 4x54w t5 fixture that has individual reflectors and fans on either end. I know here in califorina sells for around 179.99 with bulbs i would upgrade the bulbs. however my friend has the same fixture on his 55 for well over a year now and its done just fine...also catalina aquariums makes a number of t5 fixtures as well good luck..
