What do I do now?

I've been trying my hand at breeding and raising clown fish. I was doing good since last January, till last week they got something. The clowns looked pail in color. Had white spots and their fins looked chewed up. From what I've read here, they got brookennela or clown fish disease. All this happened in my grow out system. Not in my display tank. So I have decided to drain the hole system and start over.

My question is, even after draining the whole system. I plan on letting it dry out for one or two weeks. Is there anything I can use to wipe the tanks down to make sure all the parasites are dead? What can I do with the equipment to make sure they are clean?

I used rubble rock in the sump. I think I'll just let the rocks sit in a bucket of water for nine weeks.

Seconded, dry it, bleach it, rinse it, and let it dry again and you'll be fine.

If you're paranoid about the bleach you can add a step of cleaning with vinegar, and rinsing it again after that. But the bleach isn't an issue if you rinse the tank out properly.

Now my question is, what do I do about all the plumbing? I six tanks hard pumbed. You now there's gue growing in the pipes. You think the parasites will live in there?

Chlorinate (bleach) the system as it's running for 2 to 3 days. Use Sodium Thiosulfate to neutralize the bleach. After that it's up to you if you want to do a water change on the system or not. It's the same process that you use when sterilizing the water for phytoplankton.
