What do I do

I had a pair of Ocellaris clowns that I purchased a couple of months ago from a women who was getting out of the hobby. She had them for 1 1/2 years. They were definitely bonded and maybe mated. This morning I found the female laying on the floor. The male is very upset and is just swimming in a small area at the bottom of the tank corner. I am thinking about going out and getting him a companion since he is now the only fish in the tank. I also thought this might be a good time to add a couple of more fish. I don't have a QT so I will need to take some risks. (1) what are the odds of this clown bonding with a new tank mate? (2) what would be a good choice of fish to add?

I think it would be a good chance if you can get a clown smaller than the one you have now. Also is this a 50 gallon tank?

The male that survived is not very big, only like 2" tip of nose to end of tail, max. I feel sorry for him, he is really upset and hyper at this point. They hung out together constantly.

Okay I would try and get a clown thats like 1 1/2 inches long. And what size is the tank?

50 gallon tank.

How about a lawnmower blenny. I am in the process of putting together a new tank of about 100 gallons. I thought this may be a good time to get a few fish all at once to help with compatibility. The other issue is that I don't have a QT set up. I have a 10 gallon aquarium and a 30 gallon sump that could be used if necessary. I suppose I could just chance it.
