what do I feed a pipe fish tank

I have a 37 gallon tall that I set up about a year and a half ago for seahorses. (They lasted 11 months, I slacked on the maintenance for a short time and that is all it takes when feeding a tank three times a day.)

So there was nothing but 3 snails and 1 red leg hermit in the tank for about 3 months. I added a dragon face pipe fish about 3 months ago and it has been doing fine.

I guess my question is do i need to feed the tank. All I have done so far to help feed it is remove sea weed form my main tank refugium and collect the bugs to add to the pipe tank.

what do you mean by "feed the tank"?

Do you mean that you want to "seed the tank" with copepods??

If so, i wouldnt bother, because surely there is a large population with it being vacant for 3 months.

If you mean "feed" of course you have to feed the pipes. you cannot soley rely on the pod population.

From what I have been reading most dragon face pipe fish will only eat pods, so I have been soley relying on the pod population. What else can I feed them.

What I ment by feed the tank is do I have to add anything but pods occasionally. Do the pods need anything but the plants to thrive. Do the plants need anything besides animal waste to do well.

I have done nothing to this tank except for water changes once a month. It just seems to easy. I dont even have to feed anything.

pods will run out sooner or later.

you will probably have to feel it bbs (baby brine shrimp)
or enriched adult brine shrimp.

I did a quick serch and this looks like a good idea and an easy solution. I am going to do a little more research.

Thanks Blumon
