Hi guys,

I have bubble algae issue and they grow all over on my liverocks. A few months ago i took some infected liverocks out and leave them in backyard. I garden hose the rocks and left them alone for a few months. If i want yo use these rocks again what do i have to do? I understand that if i put them back straight in it may cause a mini cycling and phosphate may leak from these rocks, hence i am asking for your advice please.

place rock into container with saltwater and small powerhead or pump..
Perform weekly (or more) 100% water changes while you monitor for ammonia/nitrites/nitrates/phosphates..
When its cycled (1-3 weeks or so) add it to the tank..

In general a bubble algae problem can be cleared up with a peroxide dip..

Thanks for yr advice. So after cycling all phosphate will leak out from rocks? I am interested in you saying dip bubble alage rocks in hp. Could you please expand how do i do that since rocks are big and bubble algae are all ij the holes ans cracks of the rocks?

Its very easy. I have done it to a number of rocks removed straight from the DT, and then returned after I dipped them, although "dipped" might not be the right word. What you do is pour the peroxide directly on the infected area, leave it sit for a couple minutes, then rinse and return the rock to the tank. I have done the same to a couple clams, just being very careful to not let any get to the mantle.
