there are three types of pods.
1: tiger pods
2: amphipods
3: copepods
the tigers have brownish stripes and white/clear body.
amphipods are white/clear coration, just smaller.
copepods are tiny white coloration, they probably came from the Fiji LR.
congrats' now you have detritus and poo clean-up crew. they are also food for Nassarius and crabs and all fish.
have a great day,
JDM...
Editor's Note-- The "people" that Ron refers to in the first paragraph of that article are mainly your's truly. A little over a year before that I started calling copepods, amphipods and isopods "Pods" for short. I was not the first to call them this but I probably brought the term "Pods" into the mainstream lingo of reefing. Anyhow, there was some battles going on at that time between the Chemist and Biologists and I was one of the Chemists critical of some of Ron's research. I think Ron was possibly trying to hit back here. It did not help that I argued that biologists themselves call the Protista group of Foraminiferans, just Forams for short. Anyhow, just a bit of RC trivia.
