what do think about lace rock

i got different kinds of live rock tonga, fiji, and marshall island, but some one gave me about 30 pounds of lace rock. Good to use or not.

Bad.
Has numerous contaminates.
Never use lace rock in saltwater.

really wasn't sure since many others use it as a base rock and do use it in reef aquariums from what i have read in many other reef club forums, thanks for info but have to go with majority.
