When you spend alot of money on an anemone. And then it walks to the back of the tank and not visible anymore. Fml.

That is the main reason I won't buy another one. There is just no reasoning with the darned things.

I am not a nem guy, but i have read a great deal on them, and in my opinion, the general consensus is to let them do their thing. Once it is comfortable, then start moving the rock around if you can without harming anything. But sometimes it just needs to get used to the new lights, flow, etc... If it is in a place that may be an imminent threat to it's health, then moving the rock is a good option.

but i am not a nem guy.
good luck

I have 2 LTAs and 2 RBTA (had 1 and it split - Cool!). My LTAs kept moving constantly and driving me crazy. After lots of reading I cut back the flow in the tank by a lot. The 2 LTAs stayed where I wanted and the RBTA likes my rocks but is still visible. So I'm okay with that. Water flow IMO was the controlling factor for placement in my tank. Good luck!

I recently added a rose bubble tip and it promptly anchored itself to the roof of a cave. After waiting a few days for it to come out into the light, I turned the rock over. It hasn't moved since.

You make a mental note that they are animals and have a personality of their own hahaha. Mine have done the same thing. It is usually getting acclimated to your light or flow. It will come out when it wants to. I had a nem go under a rock for months and when it came out it was huge and then started hosting my clowns. If it is attached to a rock, you can move the rock and then try making it an anemone cave around that rock (somewhere it will be more visible to you) where it can come out and go underneath the rocks if it wants. You can try putting a strong stream of flow on it in the area it's in so it moves away from it or you can try blocking the light out in the area it has now settled in and it will move toward more light. When I had my nems, I found I was moving everything else around to please them all the time. They are cool creatures though. They sometimes get stressed pretty easy at first, so if you can just leave it, leave it :)

There's really no controlling 'nems. They'll move when they want, and where they want until they're happy.

Even if they move to the back, they could eventually move back to a more viewable area.

If I were you, I'd wait it out for a while to see if it is going to stay in the spot for a while before you do anything. Just to see if it's happy where it's at...

Every type of nem has a preference, you must understand that and then do your best to provide that in the spot where you want you nem to be. ie if it's a sand dweller then you need to have a spot with just sand, if it likes flat top rock without touching the side you need that. This is why most hard core nem keeps set up the tank around the needs of the nem, rather than trying to make your nem work in your tank. also flow and lighting play a big part with these guy. I think that to often people see nems more as corals an less as very mobile animals like fish.:)

They usually go on a walkabout for a while, hide in dark places, peek out occasionally, but will settle in at some point, anchor themselves and reach for some light. Be patient, see where it calls home and rearrange things around it if crowds corals. Trying to put it where you want it will likely only result in another walkabout.... Just like people, anemones are strange
