What do you dose your tank with?

I am a minimalist. Kalk in ATO water and water changes thats it. I keeps thing stable, provide lots of flow and skimming and I feed everything well. I used to dose a bunch of elements and it was a pain and only threw things out of whack. The dosing of ca, alk, iodine, strontium and potassium just made the levels swing to much. Stressing out my sps.

BRS 3 part. I use a bubble magus t-01 to automate the system. Had to test everyday twice for 3 weeks to get it just right. I have good growth (my blues could be better) and my parameters are very stable.

People I know that keep really nice large tanks do a calcium reactor or the 3 part and don't do the AA or the iodine, just keep the alk, cal, mag levels close to NSW parameters.

The vodka is something to read up on in depth. I have read a lot of threads of people nuking there systems. Also if you have the money Zeo tanks seem to have really nice corals and might be where I go next.

brs 2 part on dosers controlled by a acjr, gfo, carbon, ecobak. Was doing kalk instead of brs but due to where I live my evap rate can swing to much daily which caused me to have fluctuations in my parameters as one day it would top off 1/8th of a gallon of kalk, the next day a half.

I have always and only will dose Ocean's Blend 2-part. It contains trace elements along with maintaining Ca, Mg and Alkalinity. It is the only dosing you will ever need to do.

wow I'm more confused! Wish each one of you would post a pic. In this thing we do the the tanks do the talking. I would never ask a broke dude for a stock tip!.....I am just trying to figure out how to get my parameters stable. Was away on biz for about 3 months. Left instructions and had LFS send a tech every 2 weeks....came home tank was f****d! took a few weeks just to stop the bleeding now basically I have a 10 yr old tank starting all over in a way. Only fish survived. So I want to get into a routine that when I travel even my GF can do it. BUT the more I read the worse it gets. I read all night about ZEOVIT....Those guys are nuts.....I would have to quit my job and sleep w the tank...and every single person does it differently! EVERY POST IS DIFFERENT! There has to be a simpler way to have a nice tank....no SPS that should be simple right? btw when I was home all the time I had a nice tank for years. what to do?oh my!

buy a dosing pump for your alk ca and mag and an ato for your top off water. thats it. no need to run zeo to get great colors.

for those who dose potassium, do you test for it? why did you start in the beginning? i did some readup, and it seems that bacteria driven systems (like mine) need more potassium.

Potassium is so overlooked. I dose it with my Mg supplement. Besides a calcium reactor this is all I dose. I believe in the KISS principle. I have 150 gallons of water and I dose 150mg once a week of Mg and I add 50 drops of Potassium once a week. My blue corals thank me daily.

Yep 150mg's of Mg (Kent Marine). Also 50 drops of K+ from KZ(Zeo) once a week. I have found Reef Crystals to be lacking in magnesium and potassium.
