What do you feed?

New to the hobby, I know what you feed can depend on the fish/corals/etc that inhabit your tank- but I've heard people feeding Rod's and loving it. I've also heard some just feed P.E. Mysis shrimp. Suggestions? Frozen vs. Dried/pelleted?

I'm going to just be starting out FOWLR in the beginning. Adding water Tuesday! Once cycled going to add some chromis that have been qt'ed while the tank was cycling. Thanks!

I have read that too many meaty foods will result in dimished color in your fish

I feed Dr.G's Frozen cubes ...3 cubes a day...

Dr.G's Gut Loaded Mysis a cube a day, some Rod's reef occasionally, and formula 1 pellets few times a week. I watch to make sure most everything consumed on Mysis and pellets. Rods reef is fairly fine so mostly for corals and bigger items fish pick off.

And they WILL guilt you into trying to get more , I am lucky I am at work all day, I get guilted into feeding occasionally!:fish2:

In my nano I feed Rods Original + Reef nutriton Arti pods. In the 75g I feed Rods herbivore + nori.

Rod's - 2-3x Daily
Blackworms - 1-2x Daily
Nori - 2-3x a week
Golden Pearls - 2-3x a week (at lights out for coral)

I have about 2/3-3/4 a pack of Reef Frenzy frozen food that my fish stick their noses up at, if you'd like to give it a try let me know.

Thanks for the offer, but as of today nothing in my tank yet! haha working on that part. I'm planning on starting with a FOWLR and moving onto reef as I feel more comfortable in the hobby. But I'm trying to make everything reef compatible a long the way. i.e. Qting, the fish, and using RODI water

If you are planning on a FOWLR, I would simply go with flakes and slow sinking pellets. I used these ones when I first started the tank and they worked great.

I still use them on my automatic feeder twice a day. I just mix the flakes and the pellets and let chance handle how much of each they get.

Sorry all, but I am lazy, I don't feed my fish manually every day. I only feed my corals manually once or twice a week and I use Coral Frenzy like some of the members here. My corals love it. In case you get into corals.
