I have some acrylic tanks and a few glass tanks. Glass is always better to clean. With acrylic tanks you must be very careful.

I cant stand acrylic...ill never get another one. I dont see any difference in the clarity between my acrylic tank and my glass tanks. My acrylic tank was given to me for free with the stand/light/hood/sump/skimmer. But the tank has scratches on the inside and outside. The scratches on the inside are filling up with algae that I cant scrape off. Not to mention the glue on the bottom front failed when I was doing my test setup and dumped 110 gallons of tap water on my carpet... Ive never had a glass tank blow a seam on me or even crack or get a scratch, plus they are way eaiser to clean...

One 12 gallon glass nanocube with one spearer, 3x6,2x5,3x12,1x30,1x46 filled acrylic.

Currently empty: 1x29 glass, 1x5,1x75,2x30,1x55,1x80 acrylic.

Glass is fine until it leaks.. I will never go back to glass again after losing 2 glass tanks that were brand name and less than 2 years old.

The acrylic tank I got from my boss, It had a few scratches on it already. It blew out on me once I set it up...not one of the glass ones...the acrylic tank blew its seam...i re-glued it and its been holdin for a little over a year now but it makes me nervious every time i look at it. The scratches are from an abrasive pad I was sold that was advertised as Acrylic safe...it wasnt...
