What do you place your frags on?

I am just curious what people in Tucson put frags on. I know SWSW has a bunch of different types. I have seen some on small live rocks, some on those round rocks, and oddly enough I have seen some on dead branching coral as well. What do you use?

I second the rock rubble - and the super glue. The little rocks look much more natural when you place your frags in the tank.

I believe any super glue will work. They do make special brands for use in aquariums. To use it you have to take the rock out of the water, but it holds to moist rocks and frags. Seems to hold a little better than the stinky epoxy, and looks better too.

yup, buy the gel.

Apply gel to bottom of frag, then dip the frag in a small container of tank water. You will see the glue start to whiten. Wait for about ten seconds, then gently wiggle the frag onto the spot until the glue grabs the base. Then hold it there for 20 seconds.
Cheers

Yes any super glue will work, but turn it over and look at the ingredients. You should only see cyanoacralayte. Totally misspelled but anyways you will know what it is when you see it. And the gel is preferred due to it being easier to work with and won't run.

This might sound stupid, but be careful not to glue your skin to your frag. It's easier than you think when you are trying to glue under water - especially softies.

And if you are working with zoos be sure not to glue the gloves together if you're being cautious about the palytoxin

Well, I'm not from Tucson but I used Super Glue Gel making sure the bottom of the frag is bone dry dab a healthy portion of glue to the frag plug or disc or rubble and then slap it on there within a month or so i start popping heads off if they are zoas or taken the edges off if they are monti's as the frags. If i like it enough i will plant a peice on the rock work to let it spread in my tank. If i just want it for fragging purposes it stays on it's plug on the eggcrate.

We have a local guy that makes killer plugs, disc, and 5-6 diffrent kinds of ....um plugs but they are shaped diffrently for diffrent purposes i can't really explain it but they rock and i never purchase from stores anymore i just wait for a meeting and buy 50-60 off him at a wack.
