What do you put your ro water into?

OK last nights 8pm trip to the LFS to get RO water was the last straw for me. I need one of those nice air water and ice RO/DI systems and plan to order one this week.

What does everyone put there RO water into? I dont really have room in my garage for a big garbage can. At least not till I get rid of the water heater. Does anyone put there RO directly into 5 gallon gas cans for storage?

Or is there a container that holds like 20 gallons but is really thin. As in it has a small footprint on the floor?

I went the acrylic route so that I could custom size everything, including my RO/DI storage container. As a result, I managed to squeeze a 90g sump, 30g RO/DI storage, and a 30 gallon SW mixing container under my tank stand.

Jeff. That was smart. Well next time. But for now its but an option for me now. The stand under the 90 gallon is already cluttered.

they make a tall container thats made to store wrapping paper that would work. it only holds about 13 gallons though. i used that for my topoff on my 30g.

How about the old fashion way-straight into the sump with a valve for top offs.

YEAHYEAH YEAH I've heard them all horror stories.

Very creative. I will have to look at that one.

That would be too easy. No wait hard. Its not near the water.

I use a brute trash can from home depot. They are food grade so nothing over time will leech into it, also made by rubbermaid.

I just installed a float vavle to it and thats it.

32 gallon Brute Trash can and 5 gallon (really holds 7) fresh water storage container from WalMart.

I store mine in the 5 gallon jugs used for water coolers.

How do you fill them without overflowing? Do you sit and watch it. Because thats what I was thinking of doing. Just turning the system on once a week and making the water I needed.

If you by your water system from AWI get their float switch and install it on your Brute trash can. Their systems come stock with the auto shutoff valve.

I use a 5g paint bucket, with an ATO...I may switch to something bigger if I can fit it under my setup. Also, I do store in gas cans as well, but I make sure to label my RO and my SW separate.

I use a 75 gal tank from tank depot for my R.O and works very good i have no complains at all

Got an extra closet Steve?

I know a lot of folks keep their water in the garage but keeping it inside will also keep the water temp closer to your tank temp unless the garage is A/C'd.

random question rrigau, but why are there 2 digital tds meters on your rodi? I've got the same brand, but only 4 stage.

The first tds wasn’t working when I open the box so I call the supplier and they sent me a new one but after playing for a while with the old tds I manage to fixit so now I have 2 ,
So I measure the incoming water from the city, what’s coming out from the sediment and carbon, after the RO membrane and after the double DI to the tank.
