What do you think about this?

This would be over a 6' tank. Its dimensions are 72X18X17.

The reason I am looking at this is because the dimensions are correct, it looks good and it looks like pleanty of electricity blown out the window. I bought the 24" unit about 6 months ago and it still works fine.

I have heard bad things about aquatraders. Wait until like 2am and do some searches. I have heard of flaming fixtures. Lots of shady deals if that is the same place out in CA that I have read about. maybe some others can confirm.

Very few people like them. I think geoxman likes his but he recommends replacing the capacitors on them. I haven't even really used my new lights but really like the idea of the retro as if something breaks, you don't have nearly the problem. You're going to want to get new bulbs right off the bat if they're anything like previous models. As chad at GWA or even Steve. Most of theirs have caught on fire or just worthless. However, this is a new model but I'd suggest buying something you trust.

I went with a fixture on my new tank after only having retros on my previous tanks

this will be the only time I'll buy a fixture...only retros from now on

There was a thread a while back about these in the Equipment forum, it was like 20 pages long or something ridiculous. The guy bought one just to test it, so he took it apart a and checked all the connections, boards, etc. I think he was an electrician or engineer or something, he seemed to know what he was talking about. I think he was happy with it at the point where I read, but who knows. Everyone says Coralife timers catch on fire too, but i have had one running for 2 years.

yeah. good reviews in the light forum. the ballast isn't giving out full power though. they recommend a new ballast. the price of a new ballast plus the aquatraders fixture is still cheaper than a new good quality hood though.

I have the 24 inch version and it works great for me. I did take it apart and make a retro out of it.

I like what Justin (Regae Fish) did with his tank. I still have about one month to make up my mind.
