Im just wondering what people use to light their fuge.

Cheap little fixture from home depot ? a flood light ? old PC's ?

Do you also keep the fuge lit 24/7 ?

Thanks for any input.

I use a compact flor 75 watt bulb 6500k that I found at Home Depot for about $10. For a reflector I bought the clamp-on type w/ a medium socket........Total of about $17

My fuge lights run opposite the tank lights. Helps keep the PH more stable..............

150 watt MH :)

Greg- you have a xenia factory down there :D

I like the Melev compact flourescent light. You have to special order the bulb from the place linked on his website; combined with the spring-clip socket it works like a charm =)

melevsreef.com has a link to the spot....

Hey Greg, do you have a pic of your fuge? I'm curious to see it with all the xenias down there.

I have a 65 watt daylight on the same timer as the moonlight LEDs it seeps out the edges of the stand (so far), but i also seem to be growing some new plate corals in my sand bed down there! Loose polyps from an earlier disaster ended up lodged in the sump... and growing.

I use the 65W 6500 Bulb from the LOA fixture and overdrive it with a WH ballast and use a remote reflector over the fuge.. I run it 24/7 and get good Chaeto growth.

I used to use the 65 watt LOA fixture and got fair chaeto growth ....switched to a 23 watt Costco compact flourescent reflector bulb and my chaeto growth has took off.

You mean that the growth has taken off, not took off? Must be a UCLA graduate. LOL :) Go Trojans

I use 2x24W 6500K GE T5Ho running on a triad ballast with tek reflectors.

I grow mad amounts of Cheato weekly.
