What do you use to measure Calc

I use test kits but was looking into a probe to display Calc. I’m happy with the current light and temp control

Does anyone use the Pinpoint Calcium probe and unit? Like it?

What do you use?

My impression about controllers is they need all the extra bells and whistles to monitor calc, and that pushes the price up 5-6 hundred…. I use randy’s 2 part and have got the daily mix figured out.

Do not get the Pinpoint monitor. Expensive, inaccurate and needs to be calibrated often.

I use The Salifert test kit for MG, CA and ALK.

Do you already have a controller?

I've had the Aquacontroller Jr. for about eight months and relly love it.

I agree with Dave about the Ca monitor, sounds like you have your daily supplements needs already figured out. I would suggest using a chemical test kit once a week to make sure things are on track.

I was/am using Tropic Marin - I just for giggles measured with Salifert - the results: 420 TM - and 390 Salifert. Measured twice. Although acceptable, I started to wonder. The TM kit is are newer, but the Salifert is near it's end and the sticker say it's good til 2011. I have another TM unopened and I'll measure with all three. I just did a water change yesterday so I'll wait until tomorrow. Thanks for you feedback!

BTW - No I don't have a controler besides the RANCO temp controler for heat and fans.
