I see some of you folks taking about bta being bleached?what causes bleaching?how do you fix it if it is bleached?I have seen bta that look clearish white and figured that it was bleached but never knew why
what does bleached mean

probably not enough light, but could be stress or bad water condition.

Well I got him and its pretty white.this is the second one I got from the same place and I haven't had any problems with the first 1.1st opened right up after about 2 days and was hosting that afternoon.as for the 2nd its crammed under a rock with its tips facing outward but not showing any signs of coming out and gaining some color.tomorrow I will try to get a pic and post it to show all
Yeah, bleached means the zooxanthellae (symbiotic algae that lives in the tissue of anemones, corals, etc.) has been expelled for one or more of the reasons mentioned. If you provide good water conditions and appropriate lighting, your BTA should soon re-establish the algae. The algae provides the bulk of the nutritional needs for anemones in nature. Until your anemone turns dark again, it would likely benefit from small pieces of shrimp, krill, mysis, squid, etc. Target feeding not only provides nutrition for the anemone, but also for the zooxanthellae and expedites the recolonization of the anemones tissue with these helpful algae. The anemone would likely benefit from small feedings (the size of a pea) 3 times a week until the anemone is colored up again.

Should make sure that you are logging into reefcentral.COM and not .org -- as in your link. Nothing major, but could have issues logging in, adjusting your user profile, etc.
