What does this tds reading mean?

I just got a RO/DI for my new 75g. I tested my tap water and it was 109 TDS. Does this mean my membrane will last longer than usual because I have seen some people on here with 300 TDS?

ya, its quite possible. It wouldnt be taking as much pollutants out. Consider yourself somewhat lucky.

I'll say, mine it about 740 coming in. Consider yourself VERY lucky!

Wow thtas high Tom mine comes in under 200 also I never really compared with others just thought it was on the low end of the spectrum so I guess thats lucky I have well water but 740 thats high

mine comes in at 39-40 ppm always.

Wow! Now THAT is really low. You can also get an extra stage with a filter for the front end that will prolong life of the membranes. Probably not needed with 39-40 incoming though.
