What does your clown host to? (besides an anemone)

I think it is interesting when a clown does not have an anenome to host to, that they will pick something else... here is mine and his set or polyps...

I dont like my clowns rubbing on zoas, whenever they do (very very rarely) I move them away from the zoas, i dont want them getting thoe ugly black sting.

I also didn't like how our clowns looked when they did that.

Just as a warning for others reading this thread who are thinking of picking up a surrogate host, I've seen clowns host in just about everything, but it's not uncommon in the absence of an anemone (and even in the presence of one) for them to host in nothing. For every type of surrogate that I've seen clowns host in, I've seen others ignore.

Since my tank is not yet built up to where I want it for corals and anemones yet my poor clowns host in my Magfloat. They chase it around when I clean the glass like they are saying "Hey, what are you going!?"

Its funny but I feel sorry for them.

Clownfish are great. I am going to get a frogspawn and an anemone soon so I hope they host in either. I think its funny when they try to host in liverock. i have seen it. lol

Mine host my mushrooms. I tried to provide many LPS that would be great substitutes for an anenome but this is what they chose.

i have had my clownfish for 2 years now and they have never even attempted to host in anything. I guess it is because they are captive bread, but i wish they would host something

It took my clowns about a yr and a 1/2 to jump into the hairy shrooms. I wish I could have seen the look on my face the first time I saw it happen:D

Here is an old pic of my false perc in host T. Deresa
Clown_N_Clam_2.jpg

he is one of those clowns that has a middle name of "danergous", one quick snap of the calm and the clown is magically two:eek1:

My clown hosts in the front-upper-right hand corner of my tank. Only thing he will leave his spot for is food and even then he will only go a few inches.
