This stuff is growing out of control, and at first I thought is was neat in the sump, but is now colonizing all my rocks, and some have gotten an inch long, and as thick as a pencil. Does anyone know what eats it? Its the one in the lower left corner if you follow this link. http://melevsreef.com/id/sponge.html

Mine are all over every single rock, in the skimmer, in the sump, on the back of the glass, even found one stuck to my gorgonian, and the underside of a monticap. Now they gotta go. Mine don't come and go, they just keep coming.

They're filter feeders. Like pods, worms etc. their population will grow or shrink depending on the availability of food. They're completely harmless, but if you'd like to get rid of them, your best bet is probably to reduce their food source by skimming wet and filtering through fine media to trap detritus.
