I picked this up today from a place we all love to hate... anyways the guy told me it was a toadstool. I've been watching it in theory tanks for a few weeks and it seems to be going up and down but we all know those store systems are never consistent. Also could 8 get some good tips on care.

These corals tend to do best with moderate/high lighting and a lot of chaotic flow IME. Having a secure base is also important.

I have it about mid hight in my tank in direct path of two different currents. I hope it will bounce back and show its polyps soon. Thank you for the reply. Is there any way to tell the sex of the coral?

Is there a way to possibly know the color or length of the polyps before the coral shows itself off if it even will?

Looks green to me - mine closes up every night - took a few days for it to open when I got it. Just let it be it looks fine to me.
